Tanner: "Mom, I really like Martin Luther King. "
Me: "Yep, he did a lot of good, didn't he?"
Tanner: "Yep. Because of him Kaden can drink clean water and sit anywhere he wants on the bus. He even gets to go to school."
Me: "Um....yeah... He did do a lot to help people of all colors."
Tanner: "Uh-huh. Because Kaden is a little brown. And because of Martin Luther King, he gets all the rights of a normal person."

Kaden is 1/4 Tongan. I guess that makes him "a little brown." :)

This story cracked me up. I'm also glad that when Mars and I go with you and Tyson to dinner that they let me in the restaurant and that I can even sit down with you guys.
Tanner sure is a nice little boy. Very cute story!
That was a neat story. I love when kids make personal connections to the things that they learn. I am sure he will always remember what he learned about Martin Luther King now because it applied to his life. That is AWESOME!!!!
too funny! I love it. I think I'll go update my blog now, you've inspired me!
