Choosing Something to Collect

Tanner has given us yet another insight into the workings of our world. I was driving with him, and we began having a conversation about certain stores and that they sell things to make money. He was very excited about the money part and kept defaulting back to the topic of money, so I felt I needed to clarify that money is not the most important thing in life. His response was: "I know. Your kids are the most important things. But the people who own the store probably aren't collecting kids, so instead they're collecting money." What an insight for a 5 year old. He already knows that once you start collecting kids, it becomes impossible to collect money!

I'm going to lose my mind if I have to watch it once more.....

"It" would be Popeye. Not the cartoon, but the movie from 1980 with Robin Willliams and Shelley Duvall. I feel almost bad saying it, but I think this is by far the most annoying movie I have ever seen. Tyson grew up watching it with his dad and loves it. I can't blame him for that. Maybe the memories are blocking the actual view of the movie. The problem is that he bought it for the kids, and they all love it, especially Tayler. He goes to bed asking for Popeye and wakes up asking for it. If I don't put it on, he walks around screaming "Popeye!" If I do put it on, I have to actually hear it. I still haven't decided what's worse!

It was 9 years ago today that I became a mom. I couldn't have dreamed of a sweeter and more wonderful girl to share life with. I love you as much as a mommy can love!

When a tag comes from a friend from Elementary/Jr. High/High School, I feel more obligated to comply. How do you ignore a tag when you really played tag with these people oh so many years ago? I used to be too fast to get tagged. But how do you outrun technology? And I couldn't outrun a turtle anymore! So here it is:

These are a Few of My Favorite Things....

For the card club (although I use the term loosely because we do more than cards) I'm a part of, we did a list of our top 5. Kind of like Oprah's top 10, but of course without one of everything for all in attendance. So if you are in the club, sorry for the monotony. But if you're not, here's my list in no particular order:



Powerade Option - It's the reason I run. I crave the drink and I need an excuse to drink it. It is made with Splenda so it only has 40 calories per 32 oz (sorry card club, my info was wrong last night - it's only 40!). I love the strawberry, grape, and lemon, but not the black cherry.









Shark S3325 Steamer - I love it for my bathrooms, walls, floors, baseboards, doors, and pretty much everything else. This is basically my favorite cleaning tool ever!






I wasn't planning to put this on my list, but a neighbor had borrowed my books and returned them as I was making my list. I started thumbing through them again and remember how much fun I had reading them. Stephenie Meyer writes so simply but tells such a great story. The series is an easy read that leaves you feeling good. Not an easy thing to find these days!



I don't use a lot of makeup, and I prefer cheap. That being said, I really like the lip glosses and colors from e.l.f. My favorite is the caramel candy color moisture lip care, but I've used and love the plumping lip glaze and the super glossy lip shine also. All the colors go on sheer, although they might look a little dark in the tube. I also really like the hydro-tint moisturizing face makeup. It's sheer, but has a slight tint to smooth out skin and it also has sunscreen. Best of all, the products are all $1.00. Yea!

Veggie Delite Subway - I don't know why, but this is my favorite "real" food. I crave it. I would eat it every day. I never said I had a discriminating palate! I order it with everything but the jalapenos. I love to go through the drive-thru and take it with me when I'm forced to take my kids to McDonald's, Burger King, etc. for the cursed kids meal toys!


Some of my other favorites were on other's lists, so I left them off of mine, but they include Rosehill Dairy (good milk!) and my Swivel Sweeper. I couldn't survive without any of them!

I Believe!

I always wondered when men/boys started disliking Valentines Day. I now have an answer. It's at 5 years old. I heard Tanner and his best friend Kaden talking today while I was in another room. I missed the first part of the conversation, but then I heard "Can you believe they still believe in Valentine's Day?!?!" followed by a lot of laughing and "eeww"s. So there you have it. If only they could believe forever!
