Keeping DL on the DL ( and other bad jokes)

We decided back in January to plan a vacation to Disneyland with our good friends, the Kinikini's and not tell the kids about it. Seriously, the only bad part of this whole trip was the barrage of bad jokes by Tyson. Keeping DL (Disneyland) on the dl (down low) became his favorite. He laughed every time he said it! (Maybe because he had such a hard time not spoiling it for the kids.) So after hours and hours of planning, the day finally came. We woke the kids up early, told them they weren't going to school and to get in the car to go to St. George. I was surprised by how excited they got about St. George. By the time we got there, they had our whole trip in St. George planned with hiking and swimming and all kinds of fun. I was actually worried they might be disappointed that we weren't staying. So we got lunch, took it to a park, and let them play. After they were done eating, we pulled them all together and gave them a gift bag which had a Mickey t-shirt for each kid, Disney pins for pin trading at Disneyland, and money from their Grandma.
McKayla and Kelsie get it:

Tayler didn't know what to think:

It was surprising how long it took for the truth to sink in. Tanner was the slowest, but the most fun once he got it. We actually said, "We're going to Disneyland," and he didn't get that we were going right then. Every time I asked him, "Where are we going?" he'd respond, "St. George." We finally had to spell it out for him, and then this was his reaction:

So we piled back in the cars and headed to Anaheim. It was such a fun trip! Three amazing days at Disney, one day at the beach, and our very own "coloring book sweat shop" at church. (Long story. Funny, but not important.) And because a picture is worth a thousand words, here's several thousand:
